Peters Creek Streamflow Enhancement

Redwoods State Park

Location

LA HONDA, CA

Project Description

SRT provided planning, design, permitting, pre-construction support and construction oversight services for the construction of a new 600,000-gallon raw water tank, a raw water pump house, pre-treatment facility, and transmission piping. The project allows this small water system to avoid diverting water from its surface water source during the dry season, thereby enhancing streamflows for local fish populations. The design took into consideration both forbearance requirements from conservation stakeholders and the Park’s water quality, operations, and water demand needs. SRT’s deliverables supported Trout Unlimited grant funding applications, which successfully financed this project.

Unique Challenges

  • SRT developed a design that satisfies the requirements and needs of the numerous stakeholders involved in the project. Being involved through all phases of the project from concept to construction, SRT adapted to several changes in timeline and deliverable requests.

Value Added By SRT

SRT utilized its interdisciplinary technical expertise to provide in-depth technical services tailored to each phase of the project, including the conceptual design, permitting deliverables to the California Division of Drinking Water, full design, pre-construction services, and engineering services during construction.
