Design & Construction

SRT’s responsiveness and collaborative approach allows us to provide our clients with quality project designs that are ready to publicly bid and build. Our clients appreciate our proven track record of meeting deadlines on time and within budget.

SRT provides civil engineering design and construction support services for both public and private utilities in California. Our team excels in designing water, wastewater, recycled water, and stormwater infrastructure within the framework of coastal California’s regulatory requirements.

Our services include:

  • Detailed design of gravity and force main pipelines, pump and lift stations, storage tanks, treatment plant processes and facilities, wet weather facilities, and green infrastructure, including drafting design plans in AutoCAD and writing technical specifications.
  • Hydraulic modeling and analysis using InfoWater, WaterCAD, and other hydraulic modeling software for both pressurized and gravity systems, such as complex city-wide potable water distribution systems, treatment plant utility water systems, and wastewater force main systems.
  • Technical engineering support with product and technology research, alternative analyses, life cycle cost analyses, and opinions of probable cost.
  • Permitting support including facilitating permit acquisition and review of environmental and regulatory requirements applicable to the client and project.
  • Bid phase services for publicly bid projects, including answering contractor questions and supporting clients with bid review and analysis.
  • Engineering services during construction (ESDC) for traditional design-bid-build, design-build, and progressive design-build projects. Our staff has extensive experience with managing and reviewing contractor submittals, RFIs, and change orders, and we excel at coordinating multiple design disciplines to support the client and contractor in a successful project. SRT also provides record drawings, commissioning and startup support, and project close-out services.
  • Independent peer review (IPR) as a third-party validation of engineering approach and design development to confirm submittals meet design criteria objectives.
  • State and Federal grant and loan support including grant management and grant applications under various state funding programs and federal funding programs, including the FEMA federal disaster cost recovery and public assistance funding and the Cal OES Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP).
